Studio Associate / Lucy Holtsnider
Lucy Holtsnider was born in Mountain View, California, and promptly moved to Colorado as quickly as she could. She attended Heritage High School in Littleton, and graduated from Colorado College in May of this year.
Lucy studied with Aaron Cohick, who leads the Press at Colorado College.
In June, she finished her first editioned letterpress book, entitled Subdivision. The book is a series of prints about the interaction between development and open space in the front range of Colorado.
Lucy founded Iron Cupcake Press in January of this year with friend and fellow CC student Eleanor Anderson. Iron Cupcake has printed wedding and graduation announcements, business cards, and ephemera.
Lucy was awarded a post-graduate grant by Colorado College to continue her letterpress studies, and she approached Ray Tomasso to work at his Inter-Ocean Studio.
Lucy's other interests include horseback riding, ultimate frisbee, hiking, cooking, and traveling. She spent this summer teaching riding lessons at a summer camp in Ontario, followed by a horse-packing trip in Montana.
