Ray Tomasso first began teaching hand papermaking in 1979 at the Summervail Workshop for Art & Critical Studies in Vail and Minturn, Colorado, and the Division of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has conducted papermaking lectures and workshops in Germany and Denmark, the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, the Rhode Island School of Design and many other locations throughout the US and Colorado.

He is also an experienced classroom instructor. Most recently, Ray taught hand papermaking at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Lakewood, Colorado, and the Logan School for Creative Learning, Denver, Colorado.
