Studio Associate / Fawn Atencio

After her recent return from a year-long backpacking trip with her husband through Africa and Asia, artist and educator Fawn Atencio approached Ray Tomasso about an internship to expand her skills in hand papermaking.

Fawn, a Colorado native, earned her Masters in Fine Art / Printmaking at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She taught there at St. Louis Community College and the Center of Contemporary Art (COCA). Since her move to Colorado, she has taught drawing, jewelry and painting to high school students in the Denver Public Schools, art history and printmaking at Front Range Community College and experimental printmaking at the Art Students League.

Fawn's own work has been shown at the Ontario College of Art and Design, Canada. In Germany, her work is included in the corporate collection of Braunschweigsche Maschinenbauanstalt. In Colorado, it appears in the James A. Michener Library collection at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, and in private collections including Denver's Republic Plaza, the Denver Technological Center and Brewer Steel in Greeley.

Fawn is currently represented by Miki's in Berkeley, California.
